2017 Cottage Life Show celebrates Canada’s 150th

The Spring Cottage Life Show kicks off the season and celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday with a focus on preserving the natural beauty of cottage country.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Ontario cottagers – when the mercury starts to rise, the grass begins to break through the soil and the Spring Cottage Life Show opens its doors to kick off cottage season, from March 31 to April 2, 2017.  Occupying 400,000 square feet of the International Centre, the Spring Cottage Life Show is the largest, premier, one-stop destination for cottagers to get summer-ready with ideas and advice on renovation and design, eco-smart landscaping, outdoor recreation and cottage entertaining from 600 exhibitors.

New programming and show features will bring everything that Canadians love about the great outdoors indoors, from star gazing under an inflatable planetarium, learning about biodiversity and wildlife, playing cottage games, learning to fish, and enjoying refreshing cocktails at the Dock Party. Find plenty of inspiration for cottage living by touring a stunning model cottage complete with a rooftop patio designed by Bonneville Homes, surrounded by a lush walkthrough Cottage Garden featuring native and pollinator-friendly plants. Meet Cottage Life experts with advice on opening the cottage, estate planning and DIY project ideas, or take a break from shopping to enjoy mouth-watering cooking demos on the Cottage Kitchen Stage and much more!

The Cottage Life booth will kick off an initiative to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. Coined Grow a Forest, the initiative encourages cottage owners to plant a native tree on their property to preserve and nurture the natural beauty of Canada’s cottage country. Grow a Forest, which will be celebrated all summer long in Cottage Life magazine, on the Cottage Life TV channel, on CottageLife.com and through the brand’s social media platforms, will be brought to life in the booth with a mini forest and a tree planting station. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Cottage Life’s editor-in-chief, Michelle Kelly and the rest of the editorial team. (Hall 3)
