A dream came true for Bobcaygeon’s Brady Austin on March 20th, 2017.

Austin was called up to play his first NHL game for the Buffalo Sabres. The game was in Detroit.

Austin has 199 games with the Rochester Amerks under his belt. The Sabres officially called up the 23 year old defenseman on Monday morning to fill in on their injury ravaged defense.

The Sabres took Austin in the seventh round, 193rd overall, in 2012 out of the Belleville Bulls of the OHL. He has played full-time for the Amerks since the start of the 2014-15 season.

His family travelled to Detroit to see him play. Austin said he talked to his mom on the phone before the big game and the family met up afterward. The Sabres won 2-1.

Congrats Brady!
