Innovative new program in Kawartha Lakes aims to keep most vulnerable out of jail and off the streets

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and Ross Memorial Hospital have joined forces to help the most vulnerable members of the community. It’s called the Community Response Program. A specially trained mental health nurse and a police officer visit people who have been identified as having mental health concerns before those concerns become even bigger problems. ¬†And it’s working.
