It’s the “End of an Ear-A for Pigs ear” party this weekend

The Pig’s Ear is celebrating 152 years of “Scandalous Stories” on Saturday April 8th at Market Hall.

The event is billed as an evening of music, stories and friends and will include tales from John Punter, the owner of The Pigs Ear for 50 years along with local historian Elwood Jones. Stories will be told from 8-10pm with social and music form 10pm to 1am.

The Pig’s Ear has been sold to a local developer who plans to demolish the building that houses the Pigs Ear and another building that’s home to The Blackhorse Pub.

A delegation of historians and residents had fought to stop the demolition of the buildings but council voted to instead work with the developer to see that the new buildings preserved the architectural heritage of the originals.
