More charges for Stan McBride Jr. after new victims come forward in sex assault case

Killaloe OPP say 4 additional victims have come forward in the case against Peterborough’s Stan McBride Jr.

McBride was in court on March 8th when the additional charges were laid. Police would not say how many new  charges were laid or what those charges are.

The Renfrew County Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police originally charged 73 year old Stan McBride Jr. after an alleged victim contacted police in 2015.  Police say the victim was 15 years old at the time of the alleged incident at a hunt camp in South Algonquin Township, west of Barry’s Bay, Ontario.  McBride was charged with administering a noxious substance and attempted sexual assault. The charges date back to 1983.

McBrides father was the Mayor of Peterborough from 1961 to 1962 and the Sheriff from 1962 until 1986, when he retired.  McBride Sr. is a member of the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame.
